Flower of Maryam
This flower (Anastatica Hierochuntica) also known as 'the rose of Jericho' is a desert plant. This plant does not produce flowers or fruits. The plant has small branches, which contain seeds, opens when in contact with water and closes when dry. The plant then appears dead, but the plant is then in a kind of sleep mode. This plant can survive for years. When in contact with water, the plant expands again.
The flower of Maryam is often used during childbirth to promote your dilation, but also for a cold uterus and miscarriages. From the moment the contractions start, place the plant in a bowl or a tub of warm water, so that it can slowly 'bloom'. The substances that are released have a warming and pain-relieving effect on the uterus. You can also drink the water in which the plant has been soaked during childbirth. It has a medicinal effect, which will ensure that your delivery will proceed smoothly. This plant also contains good nutrients such as: calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron.
The flower of Maryam is used for the following ailments:
- Menstrual pain
- Facilitates labor if drunk during contractions
- Infertility and irregular menstruation (after a miscarriage or with a cold uterus)
- Good for menopausal women
- Prostate problems in men
- Good against bacteria
- Rheumatism
